Nelson Mandela, the anti-apartheid leader who became South Africa's first black president, has been admitted to a hospital with a recurring lung infection, South Africa said Thursday. Mandela, 94, has become increasingly frail in recent years and has been hospitalized several times since last year, mostly recently earlier this month when he received what a presidential spokesman described as a "successful" medical test. Mandela was admitted to a hospital just before midnight Wedesday "due to the recurrence of his lung infection," the office of President Jacob Zuma said in a statement. President Jacob Zuma wished Mr Mandela a speedy recovery and urged South Africans and the world to pray for the former leader and his family.

It’s amazing how super powerful a women is. Women are soo powerful that for a man to obtain favor he just has to find a wife. Heehee! It might sound cheesy coming from me because am a lady but by merely looking at simple trends in the world today it is safe to say that there is a level of favour a man will not know until he finds a wife. I mean we all know about the controversy surrounding the gift of automobiles received by Nigerian Celebrity couple; Tuface and Annie Macaulay Idibia but looking beyond the controversies, Tu baba is already one of the biggest in his field and yet he is already experiencing an overflow. I call it an overflow because maybe he could well have afforded the SUV which was presented to them by the Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio on their traditional wedding. And while many where yet to recover from that one, another surprise car gift, the new 2013 Corvette Sports Car gift was presented to them (by only God knows who) at their white wedding in Dubai. You say it is because he is a celeb, others say he is partaking of corruption; I say “He that finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favour”. Ok, soo maybe not every man that gets married would attract that level of fanfare and those kind of gifts but the truth remains that the “favour” finding a wife brings goes beyond that which is received on the wedding day. Many men have shared stories of how things just started to fall into place when they found the woman they were going to share their lives with. One of such is the touching an emotional tribute, Jay Z recentlywrote to his wife Beyonce 

The way she has changed my life… If I didn’t have her…? Where would I be? Who would I be? Sometime I wonder if I would still be Jay-Z. It’s so surreal. First time I laid eyes on her she was 16. More so, certain things have to be put in place, like a steady source of income, a house (or a budget for the house) which she will make a home and the readiness to leave and cleave. That said, there is always a set time for all things love and marriage so in the mean time get wisdom, get understanding … exalt her, and she will promote you; she will bring you honour… and place on your head an ornament of grace. Guys! dont you just love women???

BREAKING NEWS!!! CHINUA ACHEBE IS DEAD

 Nigeria's literary icon and publisher of several novels, Chinua Achebe, is dead.
Mr. Achebe, 82, died in the United States where he was said to have suffered from an undisclosed ailment.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt he died last night in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
A source close to the family said the professor had been ill for a while and was hospitalised in an undisclosed hospital in Boston.
The source declined to provide further details, saying the family would issue a statement on the development later today...

Nollywood starlet Beverly Naya and Tinsel actor Gbenro Ajibade will host maiden edition of the WED Awards taking place tomorrow at the Landmark Village, Lagos.
The awards show was launched to honour Nigerian wedding entrepreneurs for their contributions to the wedding industry. It is scheduled to take place as part of the activities of the 2013 WED Expo which kicks off today at TBS, Lagos. If you’re a lover of weddings then you have to be at the maiden edition of the WED Awards taking place tomorrow at the Landmark Village, Lagos. The event is strictly by invitation though! "A PENCIL IN HIS HANDS" - OTTO ORONDAAM

All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Otto Orondaam in the face of despair has remained tenacious and demonstrated bravery in doing something to positively influence society. Makoko is one of the slums in Lagos state that has benefited from the Slum2school project he initiated in 2012. Read a recent testimony he shared on BB and be inspired.

"This is my first BC this year and even if I tried not 2 type and send it, my spirit says I should share Gods faithfulness.. Myself,Lade,TY and several Slum2School Volunteers were at Makoko having Bola's birthday party with our kids. And then things changed... I was scared because she already looked dead after falling of a canoe into a lagoon. A crowd rushed to the scene. Anxiously I left the event to see what was going on. Women were crying and shouting, she was already passing out hot faeces after convulsing.

I was scared not to bear the blame if she died but I felt I could do something so I grabbed her.  No health center was within and no medical expert on ground. Her teeth were glued, body was pale and hot, nostrils blocked with mucus and people pouring water on us.

Jimmy is a gospel rap artiste and pastor who is also the son of the late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya and Pastor Taiwo Odukoya of Fountain of Life Church his bride Kemi Studied English literature and French in the University of Manchester. In an interview with BN when "Pastor J" was asked how difficult it was courting without acting inappropriately he said "One thing I believe is that true love waits. If it’s something you believe is true, then it’s worth waiting for. Besides, you are in a place where people look up to you and you have to direct and lead them the best way you can."
